When I grow up . . .
So, Monday was my 15th anniversary. I can’t believe all that has happened since I met Cowboy.
- Gave birth to five children in 7 1/2 years.
- Moved about 7 times all within the state of Utah.
- Owned three different homes.
- Cowboy has worked for five different companies and is now self-employed for the third time.
- 80 credits earned at BYU
- The list could go on and on.
These are statistics, but really don’t mean much until you know the stories: the people we have met and served and grown to love in every place we’ve lived, the diverse personalities and talents of the five children and the joy it is to be a part of their lives, the heart aches and disappointments, the late night fevers, the stitches, the financial worries, the physical pain, the learning, the love, the tears and the blessings.
The journey.
That’s what it is all about folks.
Here is a video for you to enjoy. I love how they laugh. I love how they’re not perfect and it doesn’t matter. I love how they are able to switch places. I love how they play their own parts but play together harmoniously without missing a beat.
Here is the perfect example of taking joy in the journey. (They have been married for 63 years and he turned 90 in February.)
Here’s to the next 48 years, Cowboy!
I remember when you were two were struggling newlyweds. Was it really 15 years ago? It seems like just yesterday. How time flies when you are in the thick of life! How fabulous!
It’s been a great 15 so far! I’m looking forward to being old and charming. How is it that it’s going to take me so long to get that way?
Hi Adrienne, yes, I remember how you would come over and so that I could socialize with someone. You were great.
Cowboy! I think this is the first time you have commented on my blog. Wow. I’m a little stunned.
I think you are are already charming, but definitely not old.
Ya I think it is the second time but who’s counting. Some people just have more to say than others.
