February, the month of giving, and I’m not talking Valentine’s either
So, I’d have to say (now that it is February 25 and there are only THREE days left in the month) that this has been the best February I’ve had in years. No kidding. I can even type the entire word now.
Whether it was the trip to the B and B in Midway or the trip to Arizona to see family and sunshine or LTUE or maybe just the fact that the Cub Scout Blue and Gold Banquet is over with, I don’t know. Probably a combination of all four. . . I’ll have to try them all again next year and see if I get the same results. (Cowboy–if you are reading this, consider it a very big hint.)
Maybe it’s just the fact that I am writing consistently and that more than just about anything else (not counting reading my scriptures) makes me feel happy, centered (hopefully not self-centered), and balanced. When I write, life is good.
My mom and I were talking last night about being happy. She said that she had seen a girl on Oprah who was a yodeler and she suggested that everyone yodel first thing every morning and it will empower them for the rest of the day. Really. So yodeling is the new self-affirmation. Although I shudder to think what Cowboy and the kids would do if I woke up yodeling. Scary thought.
So, I suggested that perhaps yodeling works for her because it brings her joy. Maybe first thing in the morning we could do a little something that brings us joy in place of yodeling.(Say writing. Or eating All-American chocolate cake.)
Anyway. Yodeling would definitely make me laugh. Especially with my voice. Whew! But I digress. I really meant to talk about February.
I think this is the month for giving and sharing and mostly that comes in the form of germs.
Which is why I am still in bed with a cold AND a stomach ache and why John threw up in the night. But, we wouldn’t recluse ourselves. Those we love are worth the risk. . .
So, what are your suggestions for making you happy first thing in the morning?
After you think about that, watch this video. It may change the way you think about yodeling. In fact I might start my own yodeling club now.
Love it!!! I am going to borrow this video and put it on my blog also…..(thanks). What an amazing talent. Maybe I will try yodeling in the shower………♥
And a “yodel-a-hee-hoo” to you as well.
Awesome.
What a great blog. I’m glad I found you.
What I like in the morning? I’m not sure, but I know it isn’t yodeling.
That was awesome! About as awesomely unexpected as phenomenal ukelele. lol
